Wet and Wild

Well it's finally rained and winter is upon us. Lets hope the farmers see more rain through the coming months and gives us some mud to let loose in at West Moto Park.

April saw a huge Easter break and we saw a lot old friends come up for their first ride of the year. We wish we could have turned on some wet weather the week before, but everyone had a great time all the same. Thanks to everyone that came and made it a fantastic time.

Leading up to Easter saw heaps of progress on the cafe. We now have finished the walls and ceiling, and even have some paint on the walls. Steve knocked up a couple of counters and our coffee machine arrived. Mmmm, real coffee at last!

June long weekend will see us have our inaugral 'Come and Ride' weekend. There will be specials, giveaways and 'Perth Quad Bikes' will be bringing their 'Ballistik' range of bikes and quads for you to try. Hopefully this will become an annual event and become a great way to try the latest bikes and quads before you buy.

It's been a while since our last post and there have been heaps of photo's added to our gallery. Both of riders having a great time and updates on the progress on our Cafe. Check them out.

Thats about all the news at the moment. Hope to see to you all here soon for some great riding and remember....

Stay safe and Stay Dirty.

Summertime Blues

Well Summer is nearly over, but we know that means time to get the bike out for a squirt in the mud.

And it looks like we may have some mud with the wild weather that most of Australia has been getting lately. Hopefully not as much as Victoria and Queensland have received lately.

With nearly 20mm last week the tracks have settled down and given us a chance to tidy them up a bit, and also extend a couple of jumps.

The 'Table Top' is now 85 feet lip to lip with better kick to it. Needs some serious Cohuna's to flat land it now. We've also filled some holes and added to the first jump on the 'Quad Track'.

Don't worry if your not the next Robbie Maddison, we still have lots of great tracks to ride for all ages and skill levels.

With 'Labour Day' long weekend coming up on 7th March, we will be having our 3 days for the price of 2 again. If you book for the weekend you get to ride Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the same price as a normal weekend. Book now, limited camping spots and Hire Bikes available.

Also with Easter just around the corner we would like all of our riders know of the 'Wylie Wings and Wheels Festival' happening in Wyalkatchem over Easter 2011. We have a lot planned including International Comedy acts, live music and other entertainment over the long weekend culminating in ANZAC Day Gunfire Breakfast and dawn service and parade on Monday.

Check out the Website at Wings and Wheels Festival for more info or drop us a line at West Moto Park and we'll help with bookings and info as well.

While you're checking out the website make sure you have a look at the new photos in our Gallery, Videos and Calendar page for opening times and coming attractions.

And you can find us on Follow Westmotopark on Twitter and http://www.facebookloginhut.com/facebook-login/

That's all for now and remember....

Winter Wonderland

Well it's been a bit of a dry start to winter, but the rain we have had, has let us get back to work on the tracks. Apart from some general maitenance we've added two more jumps and some more whoops to the Pro Track, as well as extending the landings on the 'Ski Ramp' and the 70 foot 'Tabletop'. The Pro Quad Track has had the landings on most of the jumps extended and generally improved the flow of the track. We are always open to suggestions and criticisms of the tracks and we use them to keep improving them. Remember we've built the tracks for you, the rider, so let us know what you think.

The next major track construction will be the first short loop of our ride trail.

Stay tuned for updates on it's progress.

Our Cafe is coming along. Most of the major construction is finished, and we hope to line and fit out the interior soon. Check out the Construction Gallery for photos of the work we've done so far.

Winter is still the best time to come for a ride, even if it is a bit chilly at night. Remember we allow fires in the camp ground during winter. There's nothing better than sitting round the fire, maybe burning a few marshmallows to a crisp, after a hard days riding.

We're also opening Thursday 8th and Friday 9th of July during the school holidays, so for all of you that have trouble getting here on the weekend why not come and give it a go. We hope to open on weekdays more often from now on. Keep an eye on our coming events page and calendar for more info.

We look forward to seeing you over the winter season and hopefully we can provide a bit more mud for you all to play in.

So until then...Stay Safe and Stay Dirty.

The Year Ahead

I hope all our friends that have ridden at West Moto Park this year, and all of you that plan on coming in the new year, had a great and relaxing Christmas break. As I write this I'm sitting back relaxing under the aircon making the most of our time off, thinking about getting back to the park to start on all the new things we have planned.

A lot has happened since my last post. In September we were at the Perth Motorcycle & Scooter Show at the Perth Convention Centre. We had a great time and met many of you to talk bikes. Steve was a real trooper and spent all three days there. We'd like to thank our friends at www.AdventureCamsHQ.com.au for putting together some great video footage shot at West Moto Park. All in all, a great time.

Also in September we had our Grand Opening on the 26th & 27th with the arrival of our first four hire bikes from Five Star Yamaha. It was a great couple of days and the bikes got a great workout and performed flawlessly, not that we thought they wouldn't. It was so great that we have decided to have a big gathering at the park every year with special offers, bouncy castle, live music and hopefully some demo bikes for people to take for a rap. It should be a blast so stay tuned.

November and December saw the hot weather, and we were a bit quiet so we did some more track work. Mostly reshaping and making the jumps bigger and better, and a few more berms. We also did some more finishing work on the toilets. Most of the plastering is sorted and its nearly ready for some paint.

December saw the arrival of the steel for the frame work for the cafe/shop. We will start on that in January and hopefully it will move a lot quicker than the toilets, and we'll have it up in a month or two.

We are also have plans to add a free style area and a purpose built race track. This is from listening to all of you out there letting us know what you want to see at West Moto Park. So keep up the emails a phone calls, the more demand the faster things happen. We will also be looking for input into the design of both these areas, so let us know if you'd like to have some involvement.

The water truck should be up and running soon as well to help keep some of the dust down, especially on the quad track. You guys really stir the dirt up!

We've also had a lot of enquiries for a discount membership club to West Moto Park. This is something we had thought about a while ago, and we're putting something together now. More info coming soon.

Finally, some of you may have noticed our website has changed. Global Fusion have given the site a total redesigned under the hood. This will make it easier for us to add News Posts, Photos and Videos way more often, and a lot more easily. Which should make for a much more interesting site. So have a look around and let us know what you think. We will also have some space for advertising. Anyone interested can contact Steve at stephen@westmotopark.com.au for more details.

We've got a busy year ahead of us, and we hope you can all find your way up for a ride sometime. Keep your eye on our events page for our first weekend special of the year, which will be a Family Trail Ride around Stratfield Farm where West Moto Park is located. And we will be taking weekend  bookings as usual for the 9th of January onwards.

So get out and ride the wheels off your new Chrissie present (if Santa was that kind to you),

And Remember.... Stay Safe and Stay Dirty!

Glorious Mud!

What an awsome weekend. A bit of rain during the week and sunshine all weekend weather it a fantastic two days of riding.

It was good to get some bikes on the tracks to give them a good workout, they're starting to get some good lines. We will go back now and add more jumps, and fine tune some of the stuff thats already there. Some of you quad riders need to get up here and give those tracks a bit of stick.

Our toilet block is now fully functional, even if ther a few cosmetics to finish off her and there. We had our local plumber fit our hot water system a week a go, so now the showers are steaming hot. Just the thing for some of us last weekend!

We also now have a YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/WestMotoPark. Its a bit bare at the moment with only one video, but we hope to add many more as we continue. If you want to get a bit more of an idea of what West Moto Park has to offer riders check out Two Wheel Sports channel at www.youtube.com/user/twowheelsports for a couple of more videos.

Check out the gallery on the blog for more pics of last weekend.

Cheers for now and remember...

Stay Safe and Stay Dirty
